Panerai, founded in 1860, Florence, Italy maintains its headquarters in Florence but manufactures their watches in Switzerland made Italy famous throughout the world for its art and advance technology in watchmaking.
Panerai is known to have deep-rooted links with the world of the sea and the sea represents Panerai’s identity and its place of origin as it used to be the exclusive supplier of high quality precision watches and instruments to the Royal Italian Navy with models such as Panerai Radiomir and Luminor. Panerai watches of this time consisted of cases designed and manufactured by Panerai and movement made by Swiss manufacturers including Rolex.
Actor Sylvester Stallone bought a Panerai Luminor in 1995 to wear it in the film “Daylight” and actually bought a batch of Panerai watches with his signature crafted on the case back called Slytech and give it out to his friends. In 2005, Ferrari and Panerai signed an agreement to have Panerai watches displaying Ferrari trademark and the collection was branded “Ferrari engineered by Panerai”
Panerai makes watches as either limited or special editions in few quantity but of very high quality, there are always long waiting lists for Panerai unreleased watches. Often in auctions, the older models of Panerai watches produced in the earlier days were sold for really high prices.

Requested by actor Sylvester Stallone for his 1995 film “Daylight”, the PAM00356 Panerai Luminor automatic mechanical movement watch with chronograph feature is classic beauty.  No major changes have been made since its rework, I feel it looks sportier than the original version, which is a good change, a vintage look reminiscent of the old Panerai models along with a bit of modern touches.

One of my personal favourite among the Panerai models, this brown and rugged looking timepiece nicknamed “Black Seal” was in fact a name used to describe the slow-speed torpedoes used by Italian Navy. With a power reserve of 72 hours, this awesome looking timepiece is very resistant and light too as it is built by the highest quality materials.

What I like most is its uncomplicated design overall and the linear power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock of the watch, with a power reserve of 10 days, you can be sure this watch keeps time well. Finally a steel metal bracelet Panerai, the PAM00297 Panerai Luminor is actually an updated version of one of the legendary models that were supplied to the Royal Italian Navy. The cool part of this watch is that the GMT function lets you read 2 different time zone at the same time with a separate hand on the dial.
